We are saddened to report The Grandmaster of 108, Andy Kessler died today from an apparent allergic reaction to a sting from a hornet while on the Montauk peninsula. He was one of New York City’s legendary pioneers of its core skate scene in the 70s and in later years became a huge proponent of the skateboarding community and its culture in the Big Apple. He will be greatly missed. -Skate Daily

  3. Sorry to see you go Andy. I’ll never forget skating with you and T.A. in a pool in Asbury Park NJ and helping you build Helicopter skatepark’s bowl on the West side and oh - thanks for getting all those other parks built in NYC.

I remember skating with him around the alice in wonderland statute in Central Park, messing with the bike riders.
